BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for maintaining operational readiness of distributed storage infrastructure comprising of SAN switches and heterogeneous storage arrays in a large, complex, multi-site, 24x7 environment. This individual is responsible for all facets of storage administration to support the data and application infrastructure throughout the enterprise. The position is also responsible for the function and configuration of the SAN infrastructure, including trending, capacity planning, provisioning, optimization, monitoring & management, troubleshooting, and overall operations and availability. Participation in the execution of the business continuance and disaster recovery is a requirement of the position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1) Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
2) 5 years of relevant IT work experience.
3) Must have knowledge of Fiber channel SAN concepts and storage virtualization technologies.
4) Skilled in planning and executing proactive maintenance activities against storage hardware
5) Support 24x7 on-call coverage for SAN and Storage related issues and independently lead problem management and root cause analysis
6) Experience with various SAN frame technologies, including IBM DS8000, IBM DS4000/5000, IBM SVC, Hitachi AMS/HUS/USP/VSP and EMC VNX
7) Experience with SAN infrastructure technologies, including Cisco MDS 9000 series directors
8) Experience with NAS technologies, including NetApp, IBM N-Series, and EMC Celerra
9) Understanding of storage replication technologies from IBM, Hitachi, and EMC
10) Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with other functional areas of IT.
11) Ability to work independently, with some guidance and supervision
12) Good initiative and organization skills
