Program Manager

Program Manager - Round Rock, TX

Responsible for leading a portion of the Services IT BPM Services Sales Enablement portfolio and execution of cross-functional programs throughout the solution lifecycle using the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). The Portfolio Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional core teams to develop and introduce solutions to our IT and business customers with the right features, customer experience, quality, schedule, cost, continuity, and functional capability. 

The Services Sales Enablement portfolio manager drives all aspects of IT project, program and portfolio activity, including collaborating and coordinating across all necessary IT and business segments. Defines project value proposition, scope, work plan, resource needs, timeline and budget for IT projects. Manages resources (i.e., capital requirements and human capital, etc.) to complete project/program on time and within budget. Keeps team and leadership updated on project status and risk factors. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Provides technical and process guidance to the project team. Leads teams and influences resources without formal authority. Effectively applies PM methodology and enforces project standards

This role requires an individual who:

* Manages portfolio process for Services Sales Enablement from intake, sizing, project estimation, prioritizing, and roadmap leveling 
* Has a demonstrable track record of driving large, cross-organization business programs to successful and measurable conclusion. 
* Is a strong leader who can motivate and communicate effectively with their team, peers and executive leadership 
* Is willing to challenge traditional thinking with forward, visionary outlook to the future so the company is not constrained in the status quo 
* Has outstanding analysis and problem solving skills 
* Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor 
* Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change 
* Motivates the team to work together in the most efficient manner 
* Establishes clear objectives and deliverables for each program that support the business. A Portfolio Manager is often expected to manage multiple programs in parallel. 
* Works with Program Managers, Project Managers and Business Analysts to develop Phase Review deliverable document(s), schedules timely executive reviews, and delivers phase reviews along with interim updates. Tracks progress, reports status and makes necessary corrections to achieve program objectives. 
* Establishes working relationships and influences / persuades at the Manager, Director and Vice President level. 
* Builds effective, high performance core teams and provides ongoing performance feedback to functional management 
* Manages major risks and issues through effective contingency planning and proper escalation 
* Analyzes and reports actual performance vs. program goals 
* Drives team to deliver quality results at, or better than, quality goals

Minimum Qualification: 

* Bachelor's degree and 5 yearsequivalent work experience in high tech industry 
* 10+ years of industry experience as a Program Manager or Product Manager 
* Solid understanding of project management methodology 
* Ability to adapt to a variety of situations and environments 
* Considerable experience as a team leader

Desired Qualifications: 

* Dell SKU application and data knowledge 
* Warranty extension data, sales, service and support knowledge 
* PMP or Product Management certification 
* MBA or MIS or MS (Computer Science)
