Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer - Aliso Viejo, CA

As a Systems Engineer for Dell Software Groupyou will be responsible for supporting all aspects of multiple virtualized environments (e.g. vSphere, vCloud, OpenStack, HyperV) along with WindowsServer and Software platform administration duties. Role Responsibilities

* Manage assigned projects providing requirements definition, team and management presentations, status tracking, documentation, completion reviews and coordination of business and vendor meetings
* Fully documentsupported services including all architecture, monitoring, reporting, recovery and other required procedures and processes
* Provide in depth systems and application troubleshooting while coordinating and working with multiple vendor and business units as required
* Perform daily advanced monitoring, operational systems support along with 24 x 7 on-call support on an assigned group rotation schedule
* Recommend and implement software toolsfor support of provided services
* Recommend, create, implement and adhere to IT policies, standards and procedures
* Maintain current knowledge in supported area of expertise
* Interface with all other team members to ensure smooth operation and integration of internal systems

Required: 

* 3 - 5+years of proven expertise providing Windows server and Active Directory and related services, design, architecture and support in a multi-site worldwide configuration
* At least2 years VMWare (and another virtualized environment) architecture design and support of a multi-server, multi-site configuration
* Hardware skills background including familiarity with Dell/IBM/HP Rack and Blade Server systems
* Familiarity with Dell, EMC and HP storage systems and concepts including Fiber, iSCSI and Converged Infrastructure
* Basic to Advanced MS SQL 2000-2008 Server skills
* Scripting experience in VB/ASP, PowerShell
* Enterprise monitoring systems experience including Dell OME, HP SIM, Microsoft SCOM, Quest FogLight
