Job Description

Our client, a growing Semiconductor company in the Atlanta, GA metropolitan area is looking for a Sr. System Application Engineer. We are looking for candidates nationwide willing to relocate to the Atlanta, GA area. Once again, the position would be in the Atlanta, GA area.

As a member of this team, the engineer will be participating in the following:
The System Application Engineering team performs a critical function in the Memory Interface product life cycle and is responsible for the creation, development and support of Memory Interfaces comprising high speed, low voltage, superior signal integrity products for DDR4-1333 to DDR4-3200 DRAM, and DIMM modules is the core focus. However memory interfaces including flash and other types of memory devices along with high speed serial interfaces from 5Gbps to 12Gbps are also covered by this elite team.

Duties:
* Create new memory interface architecture specifications both proprietary and within the standards community such as JEDEC.
* Prototyping the idea within the bench top and system level context, using test chips, microcontrollers, FPGAs and software.
* Establish hardware and software test environments and infrastructure
* Interface with key industry experts from System OEMS, CPU, DIMM and DRAM suppliers
* Develop automation software for lab equipment to stress, validate, characterize and debug
* Responsible for reporting all ASIC Validation activities and progress to Management
* Support Embedded Software Developers, ASIC designers, Product Engineers and Production Test
* Verify ASIC operation against simulation and emulation environments
* Create and write BIOS and Firmware code for target platforms

* BSEE or MSEE graduate,
* Commanding grasp of Electronics first principles
*Hardware hands on debug lab experience is required.
* Programming Experience with high level languages (Python, C and/or C++ a plus)are plusses
*RF knowledge and frequency domain fundamental understanding and working knowledge (physics of it as well as working with it)is highly desired.
* Programming experience with Assembly, RTL, FPGA, CPLD and microcontrollers are desired
* Experience interfacing with customers is highly desired
-Strong experience in debugging and in validation.
-Experience with crosstalk and transmission line theory are highly desired but not required
-Experience with High pass filter (HPF) is highly desired
-Experience with characterizing and verifying system performance of
a high speed memory sub system is highly desired.
-Basic circuit analyses to the node of a simple RLC circuit is required.
-Experience with state machine is required.
-Device driver programming all the way
down to circuit/nodal analyses is desired
-Strong experience in low level hardware analysis skills are required
-An understanding of the physics of circuit elements are highly desired

* Experience in the semiconductor, aerospace, Automotive or other consumer electronic industry is a plus but not required
* High Speed Signal Integrity considerations and Transmission Line Theory knowledge a plus
* Experience in hardware debug and design
* Knowledge of Operating System internal operation such as Linux and Windows
* Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, VNA, BERTs etc
* Must be willing to travel
